What are the advantages for you, as TTO, university and research institute, of taking part in BioFIT 2024?

One-on-one meetings

BioFIT's partnering platform gives you the opportunity to make meaningful connections that could move your projects forward. The partnership activity enables participants to meet during BioFIT 2024.

Pitch sessions

This is an excellent opportunity for TTOs, universities, research institutes and companies to present their early-stage technologies with a view to a collaboration project and/or licensing agreement.

BioFIT conferences

The BioFIT conference programme is designed to meet the interests of every player in the pharma and biotech sector. Discover the different tracks and the programme below!

Fostering biotech partnerships through one-on-one meetings

The partnering activity is the most efficient way to identify and connect with your future project partners, obtain funding, and accelerate innovation.

A few weeks before the event, BioFIT’s attendees will have full access to the partnering platform, which will feature the list of all BioFIT delegates composed of global leaders in Life Sciences and will be able to pre-arrange meetings with any participants for the duration of the event.

Pitch Sessions: A gateway to biotech collaboration

The BioFIT pitch sessions offer the opportunity to detect the most innovative and promising start-ups, R&D projects and licensing opportunities in order to foster partnerships and business development opportunities in the Life Sciences and Animal Health fields, through the Start-up Slams, the Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity Presentations and the Animal Health Presentations.

Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity presentations

The Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity Presentations are a great opportunity for TTOs, universities, research institutes and companies to showcase their early-stage assets in front of potential partners in the Life Sciences field, in order to entail a collaborative project and/or a licensing deal.

BioFIT 2023's life sciences innovations

At BioFIT 2023, the prize for the most promising technology was awarded to the San Raffaele University and Research Hospital for its CAR/TCR cell therapy project. The Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity Presentation sessions were co-organised by the European project LEAP-BIO. The 2024 candidates are currently being selected by our Steering Committee, so to keep up to date with the candidates selected for the pitch sessions, subscribe to our newsletter so you don’t miss any of the news!

"I was delighted to participate in the Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity pitch session. The session provided a valuable platform to showcase our projects and explore potential collaborations. The engagement and interest from committee members and participants were truly encouraging, and I believe this will pave the way for exciting partnerships in the near future. I am pleased with the productive outcomes of the BioFIT event, especially the significant number of B2B meetings I attended. These meetings were instrumental in fostering connections, exchanging ideas, and exploring collaborative opportunities. Overall, BioFIT proved to be an invaluable platform for networking and exploring synergies within the industry. I am grateful for the opportunity and optimistic about the potential partnerships that may stem from these interactions."

BioFIT conferences: Where biotech innovation thrives

The BioFIT conference programme is designed to meet the interests of every player in the pharma and biotech sector. The 2024 programme is anchored by four tailored tracks, addressing the right sources of funding for early-stage innovation, best practice in academic-industry R&D collaborations, winning ways to nurture early-stage assets and animal health strengths.

Best practices in academia-industry R&D collaborations

Fostering academia-industry partnerships is key to fuel innovation in the sector. Join us for an engaging track focused on fostering partnerships between academia and industry, essential for driving innovation in the life sciences sector. This track is an invaluable opportunity for TTOs to understand the dynamics of academia-industry collaborations and leverage collective efforts to enhance innovation.

  • Academia-biotech collaborations: an alternative itinerary to foster innovation
  • A tale of academia-pharma collaborations: What does the story teach us?

Nurturing and licensing early-stage assets

Early-stage assets evolve in an ecosystem where TTOs, scientists and entrepreneurs are closely connected. This track focuses on the critical connections between technology transfer offices (TTOs), scientists, and entrepreneurs to effectively nurture and license innovative projects. It presents an essential opportunity for TTOs and industry professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms that drive asset valuation and transformation from science to business.

  • Navigating a deal structure: Overview, market practices and how to approach
  • Information is the key: What should you have ready to present your academic asset to potential industry partners?
  • TTO to TTO collaborations: Examples and success stories of spinning off academic assets from different institutions into a single company
  • Diving into the venture builder model: Unpacking the value proposition in nurturing biotech assets

A dynamic exhibition area

The exhibition area enables participants to access key information, expand their network, showcase their skills, services and innovations, and raise their profile. In the BioFIT 2024 exhibition area, you’ll find over 100 exhibitors, all with the same goal: to build partnerships with public and private actors.

2024, the edition not to miss

The 2024 edition of BioFIT will bring together more than 1,000 participants to collaborate and develop partnerships. This year, BioFIT is organised together with MedFIT, dedicated to innovation partnerships and investment rounds in the MedTech and Diagnostic sectors, as well as MEDigIT, dedicated to Digital Health innovation.
